There’s something about bridges that fascinate me. The symbolism of connecting two isolated points of land across a water boundary. The stories of their construction. The architecture based on a marriage of form and function. The knowledge that no two bridges anywhere in the world are exactly alike.
This is my collection of bridge photos, and my humble attempt to capture the beauty of each bridge I’ve had the pleasure of traveling over or under.

The Ave Reducto Bridge crossing over Subida Armendariz, Miraflores District of Lima, Peru. Subida Armendariz is a main highway leading down to the Pacific Ocean beaches, with a pedestrian walkway on the one side.

A Panoramic image of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Tacoma, Washington. The twin spans of this bridge connect the city of Tacoma with the Kitsap Peninsula. The earlier 1940 bridge dramatically collapsed into Puget Sound on November 7 of the same year.

Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge
The Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge is a through arch bridge that carries South Capitol Street over the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C. It was completed in 2021 and replaced an older swing bridge that was completed in 1950 as the South Capitol Street Bridge. Taken from my HO Sports beacon "Dragonfly." kayak while paddling the Anacostia River.
