Today is another Christmas. A day that rolls around once each year to remind us of peace and joy and goodwill to all mankind. Also another day to gather with family and friends to exchange gifts, eat, drink, and have lots of family fights… No scratch that “family fights” stuff…
Anyway, since I’m still not feeling inspired to write much, I thought to share a bit of Christmas holiday music from one of my favorite groups.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Yes, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has become one of my favorite musical groups. I first learned about them from car pool members back around 2009. This group had already been around for several years at that point. I found one of their albums, and was immediately hooked.
They initially started doing Christmas music, and ultimately created the “Christmas Trilogy” set of themed Christmas music, each with a background story. I’ve posted some of the individual tracks from this trilogy on Christmases past. But there is a lot more. Each track, by itself, is a spectacular bit of music. And, of course, there’s the music videos.
Carol of the Bells
For this Christmas, I’m sharing the official Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s track of “Carol of The Bells.” This is from their 1996 album “Christmas Eve and Other Stories,” and officially titled “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo.”
Parting Thoughts
This has been a rough year for many people, both in America and many other places around the world. Here in America, many of us are continuing to grapple with the outcome of too many family members choosing Trump over truth, love, and basic human decency. We can’t go back to normal, because normal is how we got here. But, I want to believe things will get better. So Merry Christmas, and may you day be merry and bright.
