OK, so I’ve been out of town (again) this week and just catching up on things at home. It’s a cold Friday morning here in our nations’ capitol. The yard is covered with leaves, meaning at some point I’m going to need to do serious yard work. I think it’s it’s time for a little morning pick-me-up.
Back in 1970 I had just landed my first job as a newspaper delivery boy for the New York Daily News. It was a big deal for me, getting a job at the ripe age of 13, as it meant I had money in my pocket. On a good week when I finished collecting and paid my manager his cut I might actually have as much as $15 profit for delivering 60-80 newspapers each morning, seven days a week.
The first thing I used my new-found wealth for was to invest in a radio cassette tape recorder. I wanted to listen to music and be able to record it. With the wonders of then-new solid-state electronics, all kinds of gadgets were becoming available. I happened across this beautiful little video clip and knew I had to share it. Please take three minutes to watch it. It’ll be well worth your time, and might even brighten up your entire day.

I’ve been following a man named Matt Harding, aka”Matt,” for about six years now on YouTube. Matt has got to be one of the luckiest people alive. You see, Matt has managed to make a living out of traveling around the world to dance with people on someone else’s dime.
Today is the Chinese New Year, the year of the Horse, and the Chinese year 4651. But who’s counting?
Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, I’ve just learned the singers behind one of my favorite Christmas songs. So, in the spirit of the Christmas season, I thought to share this with my many (more than three) readers.
My mom sent me this important and useful piece of information on disaster preparedness. Considering the number of disasters I’ve lived through these past years, I wanted to share it here.
For the first post of 2011, I thought it would be appropriate to post a YouTube clip of my all-time favorite movies about finding your dreams.
