The news coming out of Washington these past two weeks has been truly horrifying. We have revelation after revelation from the January 6 committee on how close we came to a successful autocoup. Then we have numerous “legal decisions” handed down by our supreme court taking away our civil liberties and making America a more dangerous place to live.

I cannot be snarky about any of this. But I can be angry. I do believe I’ve found a song that expresses my true feelings.

The Group

The musician Lily Allen is an English singer-songwriter and actress. From the Wikipedia:

Allen was born 2 May 1985 in Hammersmith, West London, the daughter of Keith Allen, a Welsh-born comedian, and film producer Alison Owen. […] Her family were devout Catholics.

Her music career began in 2005 when she made some of her vocal recordings public on Myspace and the publicity resulted in airplay on BBC Radio 1 and a contract with Regal Recordings. Her first mainstream single, “Smile”, reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2006. Her debut record, Alright, Still, was well received, selling over 2.6 million copies worldwide and bringing Allen nominations at the Grammy Awards, the Brit Awards, and the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Song

Her second album It’s Not Me, It’s You included one absolutely delicious song that completely expresses my feelings towards a number of people. So, I dedicate this song to the following people, in no particular order.

  • Supreme Court Justices
    • Clarence Thomas
    • Samuel Alito
    • Neil Gorsuch
    • Brett Kavanaugh
    • Amy Coney Barrett
    • John Roberts
  • Elected Officials
    • Senator Mitch McConnell
    • Susan Collins
    • Ted Cruz
    • Joe Manchin
    • Kyrsten Sinema

And of course, the former guy Donald Trump. And also dedicated to every fucking person who voted for trump, and to those people who continue to idolize this miscreant.

This song is dedicated to all of you.
