Desert Kayaking

This is a collection of photos taken on a chartered kayak trip down the Colorado River on April 30, 2015. Our group started from just below Hoover Dam and paddled down the section of river passing through Black Canyon, finishing our trip at Willow Beach Marina about 12 miles downriver. Along the way we pulled out several times to hike up side canyons and explore natural hot springs and historical sites. This section of river is designated a national water trail and has several locations listed on the register of national historical sites.

This was my first time paddling in a 14 foot touring kayak (Jackson brand “Journey”).  I really enjoyed this trip.
