Lotus blossoms are the greatest exotic flower that simply screams “China!” So when Winnie and I traveled to China in August/September 2017, and hiked West Lake in Hangzhou, seeing huge masses of Lotus Flowers in bloom was an exciting treat. Winnie and I both took a lot of photos of these lovely water plants. So many, in fact, that I decided to add a separate subsection to the existing “Pandora’s Box” gallery. So, here is our humble photo offering to the Lotus Plant.
Interesting but related useless bit of information; The Chinese eat the Lotus Seed pods as a vegetable and the roots as a starch. I haven’t tasted the seed pods (yet) but the Lotus roots are very tasty.
