I’ve written before about the violin-playing Goddess that is Vanessa Mae. In this post, I’m writing about her again, and about one of her many violin pieces that is also a good match for these times and the approaching storm.

So the world is on fire right now. Stock markets are collapsing, a pandemic is raging across the globe, a buffoon is occupying the role of “Leader of the Free World,” and our supermarkets are out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
But things could be worse – we could be in a Groundhog Day time loop living the same day over and over again. So we need some music for these times.
I’ve posted about this Chinese Violin-playing Goddess before, and see that it’s time for me to post again.
So we survived another year and made it into 2019. All things considered, I think this deserves a little celebration.
So this is a thing. There’s apparently a device, called the Pink Luminous Breast, which is like a high-tech flashlight used as a medical device. When a woman presses it against her skin, a red LED light illuminates the inside of her breast tissue and provides a warning of possible breast cancer. However, a Chinese woman inventor who’s apparently into the “Cyberpunk” scene has re-engineered this do-it-yourself medical device into a wearable cyberpunk-styled transillumination strobe gadget that allows her to walk around in public with glowing red breasts.
I can’t believe this story hasn’t already made headline news in papers all around the world.
Just a little light comedy to post on yet another cold and wet Sunday morning.
Today is the Chinese New Year and start of the Year of the Dog. Chinese people around the world celebrate today as one their most significant holidays of the year. In the Chinese calendar, today marks the start of year 4716, based upon a calendar first developed by the Emperor Huangdi, starting in 2637 B.C.E. (Before Common Era).
Happy New year of 2018 everyone! We all survived the horrors of 2017, with a promise that 2018 will be a better year for everyone. So, to ring in the new year properly we need a bit of holiday music.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas to end what has generally been an awful year. So I think a bit of uplifting music is in order for this magical day.
Today I’m watching the first snowfall of this season, and coincidentally the first snow of 2017. At least here in Northern Virginia. As luck would have it, today is a Saturday, so I’ve avoided the Mad Max-like horrors of traveling out on our snowy highways. On the flip side, I’m stuck in the house all day and cabin fever strikes quickly.
We’re presently up to about one-half inch, and with any luck, we’ll have Washington, D.C. shut down for a week.
